Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman holds a Distinguished Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is often credited for beginning the current science-based study of children's memories of eyewitnesses and children's victim witnesses within legal circumstances. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer who has received numerous prizes and grants. She has advised many administrations and agencies across the world about policies and research relating to the treatment of child victims by the legal system. She serves as consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of numerous professional associations, including The Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Professor. Goodman is a fellow of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and also the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was head of the America Psychological Association's divisions, Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Child and Family Policies and Practice.
