Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn was born in the United States. Her most well-known character is Skyler White in her role on the AMC drama Breaking Bad, for which she was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award in 2013 as well as 2014 in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in an Drama Series. She has also played Jean Ward in The Practice, and Martha Bullock in Deadwood. Anna Gunn, born 1968 in Sante Fe New Mexico fell in love with acting in Preparatory before her Family moved to Ohio. She went to Northwestern University to study theatre and was also a student at the British American Drama Academy. Anna performed in Chicago's theater for many years prior to trying out for film and TV roles. Anna got her big break in 1992 when she appeared as Arden in 29 episodes of Down the Shore. Anna continued appearing in films as well as TV shows such Seinfeld, NYPD Blue and other shows until the end of the 1990's. Then she was cast in The Practice as Jean Ward. Martha Bullock, a character she played for two years during Deadwood's 2nd season. Skyler was the character she played in her Breaking Bad role from 2008. Sully, the Deadwood film, and other movies also featured her. Gunn appeared on stage for David Schwimmer's Sex With Strangers. In 2022, Gunn starred in a four-part audio play podcast called Numbered Days. Breaking Bad often revolves around Walter White and Skyler's relationship. Its strain and ultimate ending mirrors the last years in the story of Walter White.
