Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. The name she is most commonly used for her professional work is Aurora and often stylized with lowercase letters, such like AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is an album released in May 2015 from Decca Records. It has received high praise from the blogs and the press. She has recorded several high-profile songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as an affinity for Bjork's style. When her mother told her that the songs she wrote were not meant to gain fame for her however, but to encourage people to see their own value and impact in the world, she started performing them publicly. She began playing the piano as her primary instrument when she was six, and she started creating music after turning nine. Her family didn't hear about it until she turned fourteen. Aurora never dreamed of being a famous singer. Her sole passion is writing music. For her, the music she writes is her way of feeling anything.
